Sipwise releases ALE Visual Auto-Attendant (VAA) as flexible call flow engine for easy routing and call management.

For companies – ranging from smaller to larger businesses – a telephone call is the first point of contact. Sipwise now released a new product for easy routing calls and call management within an enterprise: The Alcatel Lucent Enterprise (ALE) Visual Auto-Attendant (VAA). It is a graphically designable call flow engine for the Sipwise C5 Softswitch (NGCP). The extending feature is a powerful business routing and calls answering/IVR (Interactive Voice Response) module.

VAA as an Easy Call Management and personalization tool

Ever called a company and been put on hold in the waiting loop? No matter with which request a customer or business partner contacts an enterprise, the caller never wants to hear one thing: a busy signal.

The VAA from Sipwise provides professional handling of calls with a virtual receptionist that enables a 24/7 availability without the intervention of a staff member. This way, the caller gets around-the-clock assistance – no matter of the time the person dials the company’s number. The telephone call starts off with a kind greeting and opens the conversation with the company’s jingle or announcements from a pleasant voice. The caller is immediately drawn into the company’s brand world. Sipwise’s VAA offers the opportunity of a personalized greeting by integrating the database and contact centre of an enterprise into the VAA.

For even more convenience, the software allows an IVR option with SQL and HTTP connector which routes the calls based on information of the company’s database. The VAA simplifies the process of a telephone call for both sides – for the caller and the company: The easy routing directs the caller automatically to the desired employee, department or its voicemail with TTS (Text to Speech) and ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition). The VAA recognises the typed or spoken menu system (e.g. “press/say 1 for service etc.) and routes the caller to mobile phones, landline phones or VoIP phones numbers.

VAA call management with a user-friendly interface

The mechanism of the VAA is an easy to use software. The graphical interface enables simple management by drag-and-drop building blocks to create call routing based on business hours and (holiday) calendars. As an intuitive software, the VAA does not require any high-level IT-skills and therefore, reduces the training time for the personnel.

The web interface – which includes a dashboard and reporting area – can be used by multiple customers. Each of them has its own private view which enables resellers multi-tenant features for their customers. With the script block, companies can add additional functionalities based on their business needs.

The VAA software is scalable as it is ready to use for smaller and larger multi-site organizations and offers SIP-based connectivity to communication servers.

Sipwise C5 is easy to migrate and scale-up

“Everybody working at Sipwise operations is very excited about the ease and fluency of migrating platforms. With every successful service delivery, we only admire our flagship product more: Sipwise C5 — carrier-grade VoIP Softswitch“, the Sipwise Operations team states.

“Not so long ago, we migrated production VoIP services from Sipwise C5 Pro to C5 Carrier (more powerful and scaleable version) platforms”, says Head of Operations Daniel Grotti. Below, the Sipwise Ops team explains how the migration was executed.

How did the Sipwise C5 Pro to C5 Carrier migration happen?

Both platforms have the same structure: the same OS and processes running, the similar configuration of components, however the architecture is different:

The Sipwise C5 Pro has only two physical servers running in Active-StandBy mode (both servers have the same services, but they run only on the active server).

The 5 Steps for migration of production services:

  1. IP addresses swap preparation
  2. Database copy to the new platform
  3. IP addresses swap
  4. Basic functionality tests
  5. Copy of additional data from the old platform (CDR delta as the old platform had subscriber calls while the DB was copied already, etc.)

Most of the time, the teams waited until the huge database gets copied. Also, the customer performed comprehensive tests within an hour to ensure that the service worked fine on the new platform and no roll-back (that would have taken a few minutes to swap the IP addresses back) was necessary.

Similarly, the Sipwise Professional Services department migrates data and services from old hardware to the new hardware and even from old releases to the new ones (with database schema and data update).

“We love how the Sipwise C5 can be deployed, configured, maintained and even migrated in a secure, straightforward and reliable way”, concludes the Sipwise Operations Team.

Sipwise extends its customer base to Mongolia!

$

We are excited to announce our recent Sipwise deployment that expands our international customer footprint to the Far East.

Telco Communications LLC – a company providing solutions for telco and call center operators – and technological partner company ASTVISION – the leading information technology and communication services expert based in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia – have been introduced to the Sipwise stakeholder and client stock.

ASTVISION has initiated and implemented a wide range of innovative products. Most notably, they introduced the first TUT’s (digital public service kiosks) that Mongolia has seen. For more information, please visit http://www.astvision.com/.

A new CPBX market is emerging with Sipwise!

Telco Communications received technological advice from ASTVISION, which built a bridge to Sipwise’s corresponding products.

Telco Communications strives to become the leading call center provider in Mongolia and therefore decided on Sipwise’s C5 Softswitch and CPBX in order to achieve the objective. Sipwise’s fine reputation and extensive experience, carrier-grade software and remarkable performance were the determining factors for Telco Communications’ management. Digitalizing PBX in Mongolia fosters innovation and efficiency.

According to Telco Communications, “Technology advances are resulting in incredible gains for businesses. Our goal is to provide customer-focused digital solutions to new business models.“

In Mongolia, SME Businesses usually rely on on-premise PBX. Sipwise’s Cloud PBX and its sub-features help Telco Communications’ customers to manage their communication in a cost-efficient and integrated manner – connecting communication services with business systems and allowing them to operate from different locations with ease.

Customer-Integration transcends spatial and cultural boundaries.

Large distances, different time-zones and organizational cultures may render onboarding and training a difficult endeavour. With Sipwise and Telco Communications, the Austrian and the Mongolian company had to overcome almost 8000 kilometers (or almost 5000 miles) in the spatial distance to conduct an effective implementation of Sipwise’s C5 Softswitch and CPBX. Different cultural and technical backgrounds required customer-tailored training. It was a pleasure for the training team to modify both content and extent.

„We aim to maintain our business relationship with Sipwise. It’s only the beginning of our cooperation. In the nearest future, we are interested in other products Sipwise has to offer. Currently, though, we are excited to get behind the task at hand!“ states the Telco Communications business development team.

Sipwise exhibited at 2020’s virtual BREKO, BBWF and AfricaCom!

Our Sales team reports back from the digital frontlines.

Due to Corona, numerous technology fairs had to be converted to virtual events. Of course, the Sipwise team is happy to meet partners from all over the world in person – yet as ambassadors of innovative (Tele-)communications, we couldn’t miss the chance to explore the virtual counterparts of BREKO FIBERWEEK, Broadband Word Forum and AfricaCom/Africa Tech Festival. The Sipwise Sales team was digitally present at all events and is happy to take stock for you!

Modern technology as foundation of participant experience

With 3D virtual environments, animated avatars, live chats across multiple continents and more, this year’s online trade shows have demonstrated – the bar for great exhibitor and visitor experience is set high.

Especially, the BREKO FIBERWEEK20 could impress with its innovative trade fair design based on the MeetYoo Conferencing Platform. Animated avatars of the booth staff, customised booth designs and fast availability of promotional materials make the trade show visit a dynamic and exciting experience for visitors.

Sipwise Virtual Booth @BREKO FIBERWEEK20

Broadband World Forum (BBWF) and AfricaCom employed the services of virtual/live event platform SwapCard for both exhibitions. With regard to UX and web design, visitors and exhibitors could rely on well-known standards – making the trade fair visit very intuitive. Especially executives with a tight schedule experienced this as an advantage – no tutorials are necessary to find your way around the interface.

Sipwise Virtual Booth @Broadband World Forum

Flexible and transparent matchmaking, key industry players as participants

The virtual trade fairs were also able to gather top-class visitors. Therefore even at digital events, things can sometimes get hectic. Therefore our Sales staff particularly appreciated the clearly arranged visitor and contact data, as well as the scheduling in the run-up to the start of the event that rendered preparation and efficient matchmaking way easier to handle.

Especially BBWF and AfricaCom delighted the visitors with clear information and a helpful filter system – so that the Sipwise team always knew exactly which visitors were relevant and potentially interested in the Sipwise product portfolio. The practical chat/messenger function enabled our team to quickly establish contacts with trade fair visitors from all over the world – easily and efficiently.

Some teething troubles were to be expected

To be frank, new concepts often leave room for optimization, virtual fairs are no exception – our sales team was able to identify a few shortcomings. The German BREKO FIBERWEEK did not attract as many visitors from the Telco, MNO, MVNO and Carrier domain as its real-life counterpart. Moreover companies from the Asia-Pacific region were hardly represented. On the technical face of things, BBWF’s and AfricaCom’s call platform was not very reliable, our sales agents avoided using it due to poor voice quality.

However, in general the most obvious disadvantage was the considerably lower commitment of the trade fair visitors compared to last year’s issues of BREKO, BBWF and AfricaCom. Many of the visitors seemed to rather browse through the exhibitor booths while working in parallel, the otherwise so tangible event and communication atmosphere suffered noticeably.

Key facts to virtual BREKO, BBWF and AfricaCom

+ Captivating trade show experiences through digital avatars, 3D environment or intuitive web interface

+ Chat, filtering and scheduling features are very helpful for establishing quick contacts and gathering contact information

+ High-quality attendees from Europe, Middle East and Africa and North America

Some technical teething problem

— Trade fair experience is suffering slightly due to more passive setting

— Attendees are less dedicated to the trade fair than usual

Digital or live! The Sipwise team is looking forward to meeting at 2021’s spring events! Stay tuned and follow Sipwise on Social Media!

Bem vindo! Sipwise supplies the Portuguese market with business VoIP solutions.

As a B2B telecommunication solutions provider, Let’s Call counts on the performance and reliability of Sipwise’s next generation communications technology.

Portugal has one of the highest cell phone penetration rates in the world – in fact the number of operative mobile phones in circulation exceeds the population.

In addition to the strong mobile market, a large customer base for broadband and fiber-based services is emerging. Government agencies and key players in the telecommunications market have driven the necessary infrastructure improvements.1 The perfect time for Let’s Call – provider of telecom solutions for business and industry – and Sipwise – to join forces!

IP-telephony revolution – great minds think alike!

Let’s Call was looking for a partner to provide more reliable, flexible and performant unified communications services – with the Sipwise C5 Softswitch, the Sipwise CPBX and the sip:phone mobile app – these goals could be accomplished.

The first personal encounter of Let’s Call and Sipwise took at a renowned IT trade show in Madrid. During the meeting, the requirements for a potential partner company were established. Let’s Call was looking for a reliable platform with good support services that would give them confidence to offer steady voice services to their customers. Before – they had been using another platform that often caused service disruption. As experts for VoIP-solutions, – reliability, high availability and scalability of services are absolutely self-evident for Sipwise.

Let’s Call found a competent partner in Sipwise – employing the Sipwise C5 Softswitch as their core VoIP-platform. The C5 is a highly scalable SIP Softswitch for business voice solutions. It is easily expandable by simply enabling various software modules. The services based on our switch can be deployed in any access network – an exciting foresight with regard to the beginning 5G expansion in Portugal!

Boosting availability and performance with Sipwise solutions

Try it before you buy it – Let’s Call serves a wide range of customers with different requirements. To put the Sipwise C5 platform through its paces, the C5 Community Edition was first used for testing. The results were  more than convincing.

Let’s Call CEO Sergio Batista particularly emphasised the adaptability and stability of Sipwise solutions: “I think the main benefit is the flexibility to configure the scenarios that our customers need and the reliability of the platform.”

In addition, the use of Sipwise products enables the company to break into new customer groups – due to difficulties with the previous provider, Let’s Call was reluctant to approach clients whose accessibility was of absolute importance. With Sipwise C5, CPBX and sip:phone, all customers can be served, regardless of their specific requirements!

Connecting software and people – we speak your language!

Currently Let’s Call is planning on developing integrations that will require specific deployments – with years of experience in customization, the Sipwise team is ready and excited about extending the collaboration. Our international company consists of employees from 20 different countries, of course we are happy to support and consult Let’s Call in Portuguese, so that no details are lost in translation.

At Sipwise, we strive for optimizing connectivity around the globe. Either by constantly refining our open source solutions or by providing highly-scalable, carrier-grade and turnkey VoIP products for commercial and residential clients.

With our first customer in Canada – Oricom Internet – we transcended over 6000 kilometers distance, made possible by Unified Communications tools, specifically Alcatel Lucent’s Rainbow.

Oricom Internet – a 100% Québec company.

ORICOM INTERNET is a telecommunications provider, offering telephony,
Internet and Television solutions. Connected to all data transfer networks – cable, DSL, fibre optics, wireless and dial-up access – Oricom Internet is able to adapt to specific business and residential needs.

Turnkey solution – Sipwise delivers carrier-grade and scalable VoIP-services.

Aiming to deliver the best possible service for their clients, Oricom Internet chose the Sipwise C5 Softswitch as their powerful new VoIP-platform to replace their existing, older solution. As means of network transition, Sipwise could provide the fully integrated Sangoma media gateway – in order to present a comprehensive set of tools for Oricom.

It’s all about experience!

As our first Canadian client, we are especially proud and excited about the cooperation! It’s all the more pleasing that Oricom shares our enthusiasm.
Installation, training and support during the onboarding process were met with consistently positive reactions from team and management. Oricom’s IT Director Jean-François Plourde specifically praises the very responsive and highly qualified Sipwise support team. At Sipwise, we are well aware that adopting and integrating new IT-systems can induce many challenges, hence we are always delivering our very best to render the experience as smooth and pleasant as possible. As with every customer, Oricom should be as confident in the use of our NGCP tools as we are ourselves.

Snom, a recognized manufacturer of IP phones for the business and industrial sectors, and Sipwise are now working even more closely together. Numerous customers around the world will be pleased. Even the most complex installations should now be possible without much effort.

Latest Debian

With the latest Version of the Debian OS you will get all the most recent improvements regarding stability and security as well as the support for the latest hardware.

cPBX improvements

In our latest release we were able to significantly improve the stability and performance of our cPBX. On the same hardware, the cPBX call processing performance almost doubled with an even higher reliability than in earlier releases.

STIR/SHAKEN

For our Canadian and US customers we provide a full implementation of en.wikipedia.org/wiki/STIR/SHAKEN in order to fight caller ID spoofing. STIR/SHAKEN is a requirement since June 30th 2021, requested by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission and the Federal Communications Commission for the US.

STIR/SHAKEN, is a suite of protocols and procedures intended to combat caller ID spoofing on public telephone networks. Caller ID spoofing is used by robocallers to mask their identity or to make it appear the call is from a legitimate source, often a nearby phone number with the same area code and exchange, or from well-known agencies like the Internal Revenue Service or Ontario Provincial Police. This sort of spoofing is common for calls originating from voice-over-IP (VoIP) systems, which can be located anywhere in the world. (c) Wikipedia

TR Notruf 2.0 for Germany

TR-Notruf 2.0 is an add-on to the already existing requirements of how to handle emergency calls for German voice operators. To be compliant with the TR-Notruf 2.0 standard is obligatory as of August 22nd 2021. All the details can be found on www.bundesnetzagentur.de.

A/B Upgrade

Introduction of a second partition for system upgrades which significantly improves the duration of the upgrade and reduces the preparation effort. Additionally, the second partition will enable an immediate roll-back in future releases.

CSTA API

Support of CSTA API in order to control and monitor PBX calls and devices.

SNOM devices autoprovisioning

The following SNOM devices were added for auto provisioning on the Sipwise cPBX: D715, D717, D735, D785, M900:

Debug proxy

With the introduction of the debug proxy our customers will be able to separate single customers and peering endpoints via a dedicated proxy, either on hardware or on existing virtualised environments. This improves the troubleshooting capabilities because specific use cases can be reproduced on production systems without any harm or risk to other customers or peerings. This although the testing is done live including existing surrounding systems (OSS/BSS) taken into account.

Snapshot of further improvements and new functionality

  • T38 transcoding
  • advanced AOC (Advice of Charge) handling
  • support for CN (Comfort Noise)
  • new ALARM MIB for better alarm and fault management
  • improved codec negotiation in case of transcoding

And many more!

Deprecation list

Sipwise Virtual Booth @BREKO FIBERWEEK20

Sipwise Virtual Booth @Broadband World Forum

Offen gesagt, neue Konzepte lassen oft Raum für Optimierungen, virtuelle Messen machen da keine Ausnahme – unser Vertriebsteam konnte einige Schwierigkeiten feststellen.

IP-Telefonie-Revolution – great minds think alike.

Try it, before you buy it – Let’s Call bedient eine breite Palette von Kunden mit unterschiedlichen Anforderungen.

Alexander Lutay, Vice President of Development, Sipwise GmbH:

August 2021 verpflichtend. Alle Details finden Sie auf https://www.bundesnetzagentur.de.

A/B-Upgrade

  • T38-Transkodierung
  • erweiterte AOC-Behandlung (Advice of Charge)

Sipwise releases Media Gateway (MG) developed in close cooperation with Sangoma.

As a result of increased demand, Sipwise is launching the Sipwise Media Gateway, a service that has been developed in close cooperation with Sangoma. The Sipwise MG is connecting IP-Networks to Public Switched Networks via high-density optical telephony and Ethernet connections in a compact 1U form.

Media Gateway: A hybrid solution before taking the final leap to Next-Generation Communication systems

Do you not want to change your existing ISDN infrastructure just yet, but still want to take advantage of VoIP telephony benefits?

Stability, cost savings, simultaneous use of any telephone numbers and terminals, independence of location, as well as central communication via one network, the Internet, instead of operating a telephone network in parallel – these are some of the many advantages of VoIP/IP telephony.

The Media Gateway is an extension of the Sipwise Unified Communications portfolio and supports telecommunications providers switching from TDM/SS7 to SIP/IP.

What are Media Gateways? An executive summary.

Media Gateways are a network transition used in telecommunications, next-generation networks and IP telephony. They serve as links that enable communication between different and not always compatible systems. These systems can be networks, single computers or different applications on computers.

The Sipwise MG converts analogue media and signalling to support efficient and reliable voice, fax and multimedia sessions for mobile and cloud-based applications. It secures sessions across IP and mixed network boundaries to support service level agreements.

What are the capabilities of the Sipwise Media Gateway?

  • Deployment and outstanding reliability
  • Scripting and Modification Suitability (employs Sangoma’s Programmable Protocol Language)
  • Multiple algorithms for routing and disposition
  • Pre Call-Announcement for branding employment
  • Hardware-less transcoding via integrated encryption and transcoding support
  • Scalable up to 2250 SIP sessions and 2016 channels of SS7 signalling

Sipwise releases ALE Visual Auto-Attendant (VAA) as flexible call flow engine for easy routing and call management.

$

$
0
0
